Temple of Khonsu - Luxor - Egypt
The temple of Khonsu is located inside the monumental complex of Karnak at Luxor, Egypt.
The temple was built in sandstone during the reign of Ramesses III (XIX Dyn). Several blocks derived from pre-existing temples were reused in the interior. The rooms of the temples have polychrome painted and relief wall decorations.
In 2008, we conducted a preliminary assessment of the state of preservation of six rooms in the temple (See section "Projects"). The following year (2009) we carried out a restoration intervention for the American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) and the Egyptian Antiquities Organization which consisted in securing all the fragments that were at risk of collapsing in six rooms, and the complete restoration of the wall paintings in room 12.
