Villa Spineda Loredan - Montebelluna

The complex of Villa Spineda-Gasparini-Loredan lays at the bottom of the hills at Montello, located in the village of Venegazzù of Volpago which is in the province of Treviso. Mattia Preti (1701-1774) and his pupil, Giovanni Miazzi (1698-1797), were held to be responsible for the project (see “Stone materials”) . Members of the Spineda family, the first owners of the Villa they had commissioned, were in possession of the Villa until 1907, when Countess Matilde Spineda died and left Cavalier Giovanni Gasparini as her heir. His son, Jacopo Gasparini, the honorary governor of Eritrea, offered the Villa a period of splendor. After his death, the Villa was inherited by his daughter Lia, married to a Loredan, who had three siblings. In 1996, the complex was purchased by Benetton Sport System who carried out a complete reconstruction of the building, as well as the restoration of associated statues and sculpture groups.
